Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive videos incorporating sign language, subtitles, images, and animations to enhance students' reading comprehension and engagement. Specifically, this study identifies the kinds of English reading media needed by inclusive students, the design of the interactive videos for inclusive class students, the content validity of the interactive videos, and their practicality. The study employs the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The study utilized multiple instruments, including an interview guide for need analysis purposes, an interview guide for teachers, an interview guide for students, a researcher journal, a product development progress sheet, a content expert judgment, a media expert judgment, and a practicality questionnaire. The need analysis indicates that inclusive students require visually engaging reading materials with multimodal elements such as sign language interpretation, subtitles, and interactive features to enhance comprehension. Furthermore, the design of the interactive videos is aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum, ensuring accessibility through clear visual representation, structured narration following Pancasila values, and adaptive learning features that support both general and special needs students. Moreover, expert judgment validation confirms that the developed interactive videos evaluated by experts achieved an average score of 4.625 for content expert judgment and 4.538 for media expert judgment which is this score falls into the very good category. Finally, practicality tests evaluated by the students achieved an average score of 4.4375, and practicality tests evaluated by the teachers achieved an average score of 4.5 which means practical tests with students and teachers reveal that the interactive videos improve engagement and comprehension and make them a highly effective instructional tool for inclusive education. The results highlight the potential of interactive videos to improve accessibility, engagement, and reading comprehension for students with disabilities.
