Abstract

Reading materials for sixth-grade students at SD Lab Undiksha are often text- heavy and have limited interactive features, which leads to low students’ reading behavioural engagement. In addition, available reading materials have not yet integrated SDG-3 content or interactive digital features to support students behavioural engagement in reading activities. Therefore, there is a need for reading materials in the form of SDG-3 integrated digital storybooks. This study aims to (1) identify the needs of sixth-grade students and teachers for reading materials integrating SDG-3 to facilitate reading behavioural engagement, (2) design and develop a digital storybook integrating SDG-3, (3) evaluate the quality of the developed SDG-3 digital storybook based on expert judgement, (4) evaluate the quality of the product based on teacher judgement checklist in facilitating students’ reading behavioural engagement. This study employed Design and Development (D&D) research using the ADDE model (Analysis, Design, Development, and Evaluation). The results show that (1) students and teachers need reading materials that are simple, visually engaging, interactive, and supported with clear guidance and structured activities, (2) the design is based on storyline about cleanliness as part of SDG-3 and the development includes three main steps: creating illustrations, developing interactive features using Articulate Storyline, and publishing the final product through Netlify, (3) the expert evaluation of the SDG- 3 digital storybook categorized the product as “Excellent”, and (4) the teacher evaluation also categorized the product as “Excellent”. In conclusion, the development of digital storybook based on SDG-3 using the ADDE model is effective in facilitating sixth-grade students reading behavioural engagement at SD Lab Undiksha. Keywords: digital storybook, ADDE, reading behavioural engagement, elementary school, SDG-3 Materi bacaan untuk siswa kelas enam di SD Lab Undiksha seringkali bersifat padat teks dan memiliki fitur interaktif yang terbatas, sehingga menyebabkan rendahnya keterlibatan perilaku membaca siswa. Selain itu, materi bacaan yang tersedia belum mengintegrasikan konten SDG-3 maupun fitur digital interaktif untuk mendukung keterlibatan perilaku siswa dalam kegiatan membaca. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan materi bacaan dalam bentuk buku cerita digital yang terintegrasikan dengan SDG-3. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengidentifikasikan kebutuhan siswa kelas enam dan guru terhadap materi bacaan yang mengintegrasikan SDG-3 untuk memfasilitasi keterlibatan perilaku membaca, (2) merancang dan mengembangkan buku cerita digital yang mengintegrasikan SDG-3, (3) mengevaluasi kualitas buku cerita digital berbasis SDG-3 yang dikembangkan berdasarkan penelitian ahli, dan (4) mengevaluasi kualitas produk berdasarkan penilaian guru menggunakan checklist dalam memfasilitasi keterlibatan perilaku membaca siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Design and Development (D&D) dengan model ADDE (Analysis, Design, Development, and Evaluation). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) siswa dan guru membutuhkan materi bacaan yang sederhana, menarik secara visual, interaktif, serta didukung dengan panduan yang jelas dan aktivitas yang terstruktur, (2) desain produk didasarkan pada alur cerita tentang kebersihan sebagai bagian dari SDG-3, dan pengembangannya meliputi tiga tahap utama, yaitu pembuatan ilustrasi, pengembangan fitur interaktif menggunakan Articulate Storyline, serta publikasi produk melalui Netlify, (3) hasil evaluasi ahli terhadap buku cerita digital berbasis SDG-3 menunjukkan kategori ”Sangat Baik”, dan (4) hasil evaluasi guru juga menunjukkan kategori ”Sangat Baik”. Kesimpulannya, pengembangan buku cerita digital berbasis SDG-3 dengan menggunakan model ADDE efektif dalam memfasilitasi keterlibatan perilaku membaca siswa kelas enam di SD Lab Undiksha.
