Abstract
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tipe-tipe dan sumber-sumber kesalahan grammar yang dilakukan oleh siswa kelas delapan di SMPN 1 Tejakula dalam menulis recount text. Dalam mengumpulkan data, penelitian ini menggunakan dokumentasi dari tulisan siswa dan wawancara. Ada 16 recount texts yang dianalisis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan yang paling sering ditemukan dalam tulisan-tulisan siswa adalah misformation, omission, spelling error, addition, and misordering. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dari wawancara, ditemukan bahwa sumber-sumber kesalahan grammar disebabkan oleh empat faktor yaitu absence of knowledge, fail to apply, weak memory, and sloppiness.
