Abstract
This thesis aimed to determine the students' achievements after teaching treated using online comics and to choose the significant difference between students' pre-test and post-test results before and after being treated using online comics. This thesis applied mixed-method research with the exploratory sequential design where the qualitative method is more dominant than the quantitative method. This research used two instruments to obtain the data, namely scenario and tests, conducted in eight sessions for the procedure. Before completing the study, the writer administered a pre-test to know the students' English in general and a post-test was given after they were treated using online comics. This research was conducted at SMA N 1 Baturiti in class eleven, science 1, with 30 students in one class as a sample. The research used a multiple-choice English test, and the Test was analyzed using inferential statistics through SPSS 23.0 program. The result of the study showed that the use of online comics has a higher contribution to the students' achievement in learning English activities. The students are more active in class and could create their online comics using many applications. This also strengthened the result mean score for pre-test and post-test, where the post-test score was higher than the pre-test score. The mean score for the pre-test was 52.117. Meanwhile, the mean score of the post-test increased to 66.440. Using online comics as a medium in teaching English effectively increases students' achievement in learning English.
