Abstract
Migration is a phenomenon of population movement from one region to another that can affect population dynamics, decision making and migration motives migration can occur because it is influenced by several factors both from individuals, origin and destination areas of migration. This study aims to: (1) analyze the motives of migrating migrants to Kelurahan Pedungan, (2) analyze the intention of migrating migrants in Kelurahan Pedungan, (3) analyze the level of socioeconomic conditions of migrant residents who migrate in Kelurahan Pedungan, South Denpasar. The sample amounted to 79 respondents determined using the Purposive Random Sampling Technique in Banjar Pesanggaran which has the highest number of migrants and the physical condition of the affected area in the Suwung Landfill Area as the research location. Primary data collection using interview method using interview guideline instrument and secondary data with document recording method. The data from the research results were then analyzed descriptively qualitatively and table analysis with percentages. The results of the research conducted showed that: (1) The area of origin of most migrants comes from Java and judging from their age is dominated by productive age residents and the motives for migrating migrant residents are based on economic and social motives, (2) the intention to migrate migrants in Pedungan Village mostly responds to not knowing the desire to settle or not seeing the physical condition of the destination area, (3) the level of socioeconomic condition of migrant residents in Pedungan Village is mostly on sufficient criteria compared to low and high.
