Abstract
The Portal Bali Malajah Virtual Class application is an innovative educational service that functions as a Learning Management System (LMS) to facilitate the teaching and learning process in educational institutions in Bali Province. However, since the application was first launched, users have encountered obstacles, and a usability evaluation has never been conducted. A system is said to have good usability if it helps users achieve their goals effectively and efficiently and provides satisfaction. This study assessed the application by using performance measurement for effectiveness and efficiency, and the System Usability Scale (SUS) to gauge perceived usability, including user satisfaction, and Heuristic Evaluation to identify interface problems in the system. Respondents in this study came from schools in Denpasar, Badung, Tabanan, and Gianyar. Data collection using performance measurement and heuristic methods was carried out through direct observation of 20 teachers and students, each divided into two categories: advanced and beginner. Heuristic testing also involved three experts to assess the application interface. The SUS questionnaire was distributed online to the entire study population. The performance measurement test results showed a very effective category, with the highest effectiveness value of 98% and the lowest value of 86%. The efficiency test results showed the highest score of 98.99% for advanced teachers and the lowest score of 83.17% for novice teachers, indicating that some user time was wasted without completing tasks. The calculation of the SUS score resulted in a value of 80.9 obtained by advanced student respondents, while the lowest score was 69.4 obtained by novice teacher respondents, so it was categorized as quite good and close to the acceptable category. The results of the heuristic evaluation obtained from teacher respondents, students, and expert evaluators showed interface problems, including cosmetic problems and minor usability problems. The Portal Bali Malajah Virtual Class application has met the aspects of effectiveness, efficiency, and good user acceptance, but still requires some improvements to the user interface. Recommendations for improvement are compiled based on heuristic aspects to produce more targeted improvement recommendations.
