Abstract
This study was aimed to describe the differences and similarities in terms of vowel, consonant, dipthong and consonant cluster system between Kutuh and Lemukih dialect. This study was a library study in which the sources of the primary data were from previous studies entitled Phonological System in Kutuh Dialect and The Phonological and Lexical variation of Lemukih and Galungan Dialect Viewed from Age Differences. The instruments used in this study included: the researcher and check lists. The result showed there were 29 segmental phonemes found in Kutuh and Lemukih Dialect and they could be classified into 10 vowels and 19 consonants. The vowels are [i], [I], [u], [ʊ], [o], [Ͻ], [Ʌ], [e], [ε], and [Ə] and the differences can be seen from vowel distribution After the allophone was excluded, there were 6 vowels in Kutuh and Lemukih dialect such as /ʌ/, /i/, /u/, /e/, /o/ and /ə/. Next, there were 19 consonants occurred in Kutuh and Lemukih Dialect such as b/, /c/, /d/, /g/, /h/, /j/, /Ɂ/, /k/, / l/, /m/, /n/, /p/, /r/, /s/, /t/, /w/, /y /, /ŋ/, and /ñ/ in which there was no difference of the consonant positioning between Kutuh and Lemukih dialect because all of consonants in both Kutuh and Lemukih dialect has similar consonant distribution. There was 11 dipthong (/ʌi/, /iʌ/, /ʌu/, /uʌ/, /uə/, /ʌə/, /ʌɛ/, /ʌɔ/, /ui/, /iu/ and /iə/) and 9 consonant cluster (/kr/, /pr/, /br/, /bl/, /kl/, /tl/, /ml/, /sl/ and /pl/) occurred in Kutuh and Lemukih dialect.
