Abstract
This research aims to describe the Swear Word used by the public in the comments section in several 2024 PILPRES content on YouTube. This research is a descriptive qualitative study that provides an overview of the Swear Word that is widely used by Indonesian people in the comments column regarding the 2024 PILPRES content on YouTube. This research produces data using the observation process in the comments column. Researchers found 45 abusive language used by the public in the comments column in the 2024 Presidential Election content. The 45 Swear words found were divided into 4 types, namely Expletive, Abusive, Humorous and Auxiliary types. These types are divided according to the meaning of use of the commentator. In the 45 swear words studied by researchers, the type most frequently used was the Abusive type. The Abusive type is defined as the use of Swear words directly with the aim of cursing the person or person concerned. Expletive is 24.444% from total 45 swear words are found. Abusive is 48.890%, while humorous and auxiliary are 13.333%. Words that include Expletive are bangsat, tai, kontol, silit, goblok, konyol, etc. Words that include Abusive are perusak demokrasi, goblok, sok keras, rakus, sok jago, mak lampir, gak punya malu, setan, tai and so on. Words that include Humorous are banci, kadal gurun, anak kodok and others. And the last one, namely Auxiliary, is a monyet, ndasmu, goblog.
