Abstract

Project-Based Learning (PjBL) is a student-centred learning model that emphasises students to collaborate, be creative, and be able to think critically. The purpose of this study was conducted to find out how the procedure for implementing PjBL, the problems faced in the implementation of PjBL and how the strategies carried out by teachers in grade 3 and in grade 4 at Pelangi School private school. In conducting this research, the researcher used a case study using a descriptive qualitative approach. In collecting data, this study used two instruments, namely observation checklists and interviews. Researchers used thematic analysis techniques in this study. After obtaining data from interviews and observations, researchers analyzed the data using thematic analysis techniques to get answers to the existing problem formulations. The results of this study show that in the implementation of the project, teachers in grades 3 and 4 applied syntax such as starting essential questions, designing a plan, making a schedule, monitoring, assessing student results, and evaluating the experience. The problems often encountered are managing time and attracting students' attention. To overcome time management problems, teachers use several strategies such as combining themes and providing additional time. Meanwhile, to attract students' attention, teachers use jargon or class calls, play Simon Says, or watch movies. Keywords: Implementation of PjBL, Young Learners, Private Primary School, TEYL  Project-Based Learning (PjBL) adalah model pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa dan menekankan siswa untuk berkolaborasi, berkreasi, dan mampu berpikir kritis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana prosedur pelaksanaan PjBL, masalah yang dihadapi dalam pelaksanaan PjBL dan bagaimana strategi yang dilakukan oleh guru di kelas 3 dan di kelas 4 di sekolah swasta Pelangi School. Dalam melakukan penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan studi kasus dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Dalam mengumpulkan data, penelitian ini menggunakan dua instrumen, yaitu daftar cek observasi dan wawancara. Peneliti menggunakan teknik analisis tematik dalam penelitian ini. Setelah mendapatkan data dari hasil wawancara dan observasi, peneliti melakukan analisis data dengan menggunakan teknik analisis tematik untuk mendapatkan jawaban dari rumusan masalah yang ada. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam pelaksanaan proyek, guru di kelas 3 dan 4 menerapkan sintaks seperti memulai pertanyaan esensial, merancang rencana, membuat jadwal, memonitor, menilai hasil siswa, dan mengevaluasi pengalaman. Masalah yang sering dihadapi adalah mengatur waktu dan menarik perhatian siswa. Untuk mengatasi masalah manajemen waktu, guru menggunakan beberapa strategi seperti menggabungkan tema dan memberikan waktu tambahan. Sementara itu, untuk menarik perhatian siswa, guru menggunakan jargon atau panggilan kelas, bermain Simon Says, atau menonton film.
