Abstract
Universities use websites as their main portal and source of information. Universities are required to provide information that can be accessed by all people, including people with disabilities. The research objectives were to evaluate the accessibility of the top five university websites in Indonesia based on Similarweb rankings. Research refers to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 standards. The evaluation focused on color blindness, attention deficit, and limited movement. These three disabilities are considered have a high impact on website accessibility. The evaluation used a combination of automated and manual evaluation. The automated evaluation tools used were WAVE and Siteimprove Accessibility Checker. Meanwhile, manual evaluation adopts the evaluation steps from the Accessibility Insights tool by Microsoft. The method used in this study was WCAG-EM. The results of the automated evaluation showed that the accumulated problems obtained from all university homepages were 188 issues. There are 7 types of problems identified through manual evaluation. The most common accessibility issue found is components with low contrast between the foreground and background. These results indicate that university websites in Indonesia, based on Similarweb rankings, still do not meet international standards for web accessibility.
