Abstract

This study aims to examine the direct and indirect effects of job engagement on employee performance through job satisfaction. The background problem is the suboptimal service provided by government employees to the public. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on the relationship between job engagement and performance through job satisfaction. The research method employed is an ex-post facto design, with a population of 1040 civil servants in the Buleleng District's local government. Data collection involves questionnaires, while data analysis utilizes path analysis. The findings indicate that job engagement significantly influences job satisfaction (Sig. = 0.04) and performance (Sig. = 0.03). Additionally, job satisfaction also has a significant impact on performance (Sig. = 0.029). Therefore, the study concludes that job engagement significantly affects employee performance, both directly and indirectly through job satisfaction.
