Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) how the steps in using the copy the master method to improve the ability to read the text of the host of the SKS class students of SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja, (2) whether the copy the master method can be used to improve the ability to read the text of the presenter SKS class students at SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design. The subjects of this study were students of the SKS class of SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja. The object of this research is the copy the master method. The data collection method used is the observation method and the test method. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive data analysis techniques and quantitative descriptive data analysis techniques. The results showed that (1) the learning steps using the copy the master method which was used to improve the ability to read the text of the presenters of the SKS class at SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja, were in accordance with the lesson plans made by the teacher. (2) the copy the master method can improve students' ability to read the presenter's text, there is an increase in student test results after the first cycle is carried out, the average score of students is 74.19. In the second cycle the average score of students increased by 84.38.
