Abstract
In the current era of technological development, there are many English learning applications available and one of them is the Cake application. This research explores the impact of using the CAKE application, a digital technology that focuses on speaking skills on English language learning. The impact of using the Cake application on students' pronunciation skills, evaluation of the Cake application seen from the Triple E Framework, and how students expand the use of the Cake application outside of school. Taking the Classroom Action Research (CAR) model which has been going on for two cycles, this research involved tenth grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Sawan. This intervention includes a learning module that incorporates the Cake application into learning activities that focus on daily conversation skills. Data collection includes pre-test, post-test, observation through the Triple E Framework, and interviews. The results shown in cycle I showed a slight improvement, and in cycle II it was carried out by making several adjustments to the learning module with the hope that there would be a significant increase. Even though at the beginning of using this application there were various obstacles, students showed significant improvement at the end of cycle II. Observations through the Triple E Framework show an extraordinary relationship between learning objectives and tools. So there is effectiveness in using the Cake digital application in English education. However, unfortunately it does not show satisfactory results in the realm of expanding the Cake application outside of school by students due to the lack of adequate internet network access outside of school and student motivation to learn.
