Abstract

This research was to develop English supplementary materials, specifically for average learners in honours class of the VII grade in junior high school level. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Ubud. The learning activities developed in the product were based on problem-based learning (PBL), project-based learning (PjBL), and discovery-based learning (DBL) methods. The product was designed based on D&D procedures suggested by Richey and Klein (2007). The procedures are known as ADDE (Analysis, Design, Development, and Evaluation). The research subjects were an English teacher and 70 VII grade junior high school students in SMP Negeri 2 Ubud. The data from the analysis procedure were collected through observation, interview, questionnaire, and document analysis. Then, it was continued by designing the blueprint of supplementary materials. The blueprint was used to develop the product in the development procedure. The product of supplementary materials referred to the syllabus of VII grade in Merdeka Curriculum. The evaluation revealed that the supplementary materials were recommended to be used by the teacher as supplementary learning material for average learners.
