Abstract

This study aims to develop differentiated English learning materials for 11th-grade high school students in their first semester, based on the Emancipated Curriculum. The research objectives are to (1) identify the needs of teachers and students, (2) develop books with differentiated English learning materials, and (3) evaluate the quality of the developed materials. This study adopts the Design and Development model by Richey and Klein (2008), which consists of four phases: analysis, design, development, and evaluation. Data collection involved document analysis, interviews, and questionnaires, with data analyzed using Nurkancana and Sunartana's formula (1992) for quantitative data and Miles, Huberman, & Saldaña's approach (2014) for qualitative data. The study is expected to identify key needs of teachers and students, develop a blueprint for product design, create materials using the Canva application, and evaluate the product's quality through expert and user assessments. The goal is to achieve a "Excellent" rating, indicating the materials' suitability for differentiated learning based on various learning styles. This research specifically targets the unique needs and challenges of 11th-grade students in their first semester, aiming to enhance their English language learning experience through tailored, high-quality materials.
