Abstract

This study focused to investigate Differentiated Assessment in term of the implementation, its challenges and the benefits in Singaraja Montessori School for fourth, fifth, and sixth grade student academic year 2025/2026. The implementation of differentiated assessment was observed in terms of content, process, product and environment. This Qualitative research used case study as research design and thematic analysis to analyze the result. The subject of this research were two teachers taught fourth, fifth and sixth grade student in Rainbow Class. The data collection method used were survey, observation and interview. Therefore, the instrument used were open-ended questionnaire, observation sheet and interview guide. The questionnaire was answered for one week followed by five days observation and then continued to interview session. After the data were collected, the data were analyzed thematically. The result of this study indicated that the implementation of differentiated assessment supported the student learning through well-planned activity, formative assessment, variation of activity and product, and prepared environment. The teacher experience and ability played a vital role in implementing differentiated assessment. Proper training needed to be conducted by the school to assist the observed teacher improve professionally. Moreover, the implementation contributed positively for student academic performance. Overall, it was beneficial for both teachers and students’ growth.
