Abstract

This study aimed at investigated the students’ perception on the effectiveness of the use of Google Classroom to facilitate online learning during COVID-19 pandemic, and investigated the difficulties faced by the students in learning through the platform. This study used mixed method as the design of the study. Questionnaire through mail survey and interview using audio recording were the technique of data collection of this research, which analyzed quantitatively and described qualitatively. The result of this research showed that EFL students’ perception on the use of Google Classroom to facilitate online learning during COVID-19 at SMA N 3 Singaraja is categorized into positive perception, due to the results of the questionnaire that indicated students learn in flexible and cooperative way. On the other hand, it was also found about the difficulties faced by the students at SMA N 3 Singaraja on the use of Google Classroom during COVID-19, which was related to the late notification of Google Classroom learning during teaching and learning process. Keywords: EFL students’, perception, google classroom, online learning Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa tentang keefektifan penggunaan Google Classroom untuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran online selama pandemi COVID-19, dan menyelidiki kesulitan yang dihadapi siswa dalam belajar melalui platform. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campuran sebagai desain penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket melalui mail survey dan wawancara menggunakan audio recording yang dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan dideskripsikan secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa persepsi siswa EFL tentang penggunaan Google Classroom untuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran online selama COVID-19 di SMA N 3 Singaraja dikategorikan dalam persepsi positif, karena dari hasil angket yang menunjukkan siswa belajar secara fleksibel dan fleksibel. cara kooperatif. Di sisi lain, ditemukan pula kesulitan yang dihadapi siswa SMA N 3 Singaraja dalam penggunaan Google Classroom saat terjadi COVID-19, yaitu terkait dengan keterlambatan notifikasi pembelajaran Google Classroom selama proses belajar mengajar.
