Abstract

This study investigates the significant impact of the CAKE application on improving English pronunciation skills among 11th grade students at SMA N 1 Kubutambahan, focusing on class 11-9. Data were collected using three instruments: a speaking test, observations based on the Triple E Framework, and interviews, all validated by two experts for reliability and validity. The research was conducted over 6 sessions, comprising two meetings in cycle one and four in cycle two, to gather pre-test and post-test data. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 29. Results from descriptive and statistical analyses revealed a significant improvement in students' pronunciation skills. In the first cycle, the average score increased from 58 to 62, with the standard deviation decreasing from 10.910 to 10.10,452, despite initial confusion with the app. The second cycle, which provided additional time for familiarization and group learning, saw the average score rise to 76 and the standard deviation decrease further to 4.467. Observations using the Triple E Framework rubric yielded 13 points, indicating that the technology had a substantial effect on the learning process. This was evidenced by increased student focus and reduced distractions, demonstrating that technology can effectively promote active learning and enhance achievement of learning objectives. The findings confirm the CAKE application's effectiveness in enhancing pronounciation skills, increasing student engagement, and facilitating creative expression. Despite challenges such as device and limited internet access, students valued the app for its utility in learning outside the classroom. In conclusion, the CAKE application significantly improves pronunciation skills, supports independent learning, and enhances the learning environment for 11-9 grade students at SMA N 1 Kubutambahan.
