Abstract

A great shifting phenomenon occurred in Indonesia education system due to the Covid-19 pandemic becoming a way for the teacher to conduct a learning process with the involvement of technological device, such as: Google Classroom. It was a new adaptation for many students who were not familiar with the application. This study aimed at investigating the students’ perception on English online learning through the use of Google classroom during Covid-19 pandemic. It was designed in the form of qualitative research which was conducted at Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha. There were (jumlah mahasiswa) in English Language Department who were involved as research subjects. They were selected by using purposive sampling technique. The data were collected by conducting questionnaire distribution and interview. The research instruments used during the data collection were questionnaire and interview guide. The data were analysed by using Qualitative Data Analysis consisting of four steps; data collection, data display, data reduction, and conclusion drawing or verification. The result showed that major of students had positive perceptions towards the use of Google Classrooms but the teachers were still required to consider the use of the learning materials, the number of workloads, and also the interaction and communication on the platform to provide a better online learning environment
