Abstract

This research aims at finding out how the implementation of project-based learning integrated with technology in the classroom and how students' interest is when project-based learning integrated with technology implemented by teachers. SMA N 1 Tejakula was chosen as the research location because this school has implemented project-based learning integrated with technology. Research design used in this study was an exploratory sequential mixed method. Qualitative data in this research was obtained using observation sheet to know how project-based learning integrated with technology is implemented by teacher. Quantitative data was obtained using a questionnaire filled out by students and used to know how students’ interest when project-based learning integrated with technology was implemented in the classroom. The results of this research shows that teachers have implemented project-based learning integrated with technology in the classroom using six learning stages, namely introductory questions, planning a project, schedule, project monitoring, testing project results, and experience evaluation. Student interest questionnaire data from a total of 104 students of 3 classes, namely XI Mipa 1, XI Mipa 2, and XI Mipa 3, shows that the average result of student interest is 83.75, which is categorized as high. Based on the categorization from each class XI Mipa 1 categorized as high, XI Mipa 2 and XI Mipa 3 categorized as high. Based on total students’ interest of each category, 52 students categorized as very high, 41 students categorized as high, 11 students categorized as sufficient, and there are no students belonging to the low and very low category. This supports and proves that project-based learning integrated with technology can create a high students' interest in learning.
