Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of using Google Voice Assistant (GVA) on EFL students' speaking skills. This study employed an explanatory sequential mixed method approach, combining quasi-experimental design and open-ended interviews. The study's sample consisted of seventy-five 10th grade students from SMA Negeri 1 Seririt. The speaking test results were analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis, while the interview transcripts were analyzed using Interactive Model analysis. The findings indicated a moderate impact (0.50) of employing GVA on the speaking skill of English as a Foreign Language Learners. The examination of the interactive model indicated that students responded positively to the GVA's providing of pertinent materials, which in turn boosted their confidence. Additionally, students stated that the GVA could be their speaking partner
