Abstract
This study was aimed: 1) To describe English teacher’s perceptions about using WordWall for assessment in the seventh grades at SMPN 1 Selemadeg. 2) To describe how the English teacher implement WordWall in assessing students’ vocabulary mastery. 3) To find whether or not the implementation of the WordWall affect the vocabulary mastery of the seventh-grade students of SMPN 1 Selemadeg. This research uses a exploratory sequential mixed method with with qualitative data as the main data, while quantitative data as supporting data to complements and develops the qualitative data to be sought. The results show that: 1) The results of this study indicate that the seventh grade teacher in SMPN 1 Selemadeg respond positive which means the teacher agrees about all benefits of technology-based assessment by using the WordWall application. 2) Teachers implementing the WordWall application for assessment in the learning process found many benefits that could be obtained and continued for future learning activities. 3) Based on the result of T-Test analysis regarding the Sig. (2-tailed) result found that the instrument used is success in enhancing sample vocabulary mastery. The use of WordWall application is effective in enhancing vocabulary mastery of the eksperimental group. Meanwhile, the Sig. (2-tailed) of the control group is .932 which is higher than 0.005. This indicates that there is no significant difference between students’ pretest and posttest in the control group.
